| 新乡市环境保护志愿者协会经市政府主管部门批准，于2002年5月12日正式成立，是我国第一个由农民创办成立的民间环境保护团体，主要发起人为现任会长田桂荣。
本团体有由热心环境保护的个人和单位组成，推动公众环保教育，特别是青少年的环保教育，提高全社会的环保意意识，倡导绿色文明，保护环境树立人与自然和谐相处的文化观念和生活方式，使环境保护成为全体社会成员的共同责任和自觉行动。现有稳定会员、核心志愿者近500人。
协会因回收废旧电池而成立，另外还开展有暑期黄河污染考察、当地污染企业调查、保护太行山项目；
特别是2010年成立生了态农业教育基地，现在已经成为大学生暑期社会实践的平台。
2013年8月，每周六持续性进行新乡乐水行，现在已进行13期，发展了一批年轻志愿者，留存了排污口举报和水质检测记录，也与当地环保部门和企业建立了良好互动，致力于推动环境问题的公众参与、环境问题的社会化解决。
Xinxiang Volunteers Association of invironmental Protection, which was formally established on May 12, 2002, has been approved by the local government. It is the first local environmental protection group founded by farmers in China, including the president Tian Guirong.
This group is composed of enthusiastic individuals and units of environmental protection, promoting the public environmental protection education, especially the environmental education of teenagers ,increasing the whole society's awareness of environmental protection and advocating green civilization. We intend to establish a harmonious culture and way of life between human and nature,. making environment protection become the responsibility of the whole social members. There are nearly 500 members in our association now..
Started with recycling of useless batteries, carrying out a summer Yellow River pollution investigation, local factories pollution survey and protection Mount Taihang project , our association has now become a college students' summer social practice platform especially since an environmental-friendly agricultural education base was successfully established in 2010.
We have been promoting an activity called “Walking along Rivers in Hometown” every Saturday since August 2013, developing a number of young volunteers, reporting illegal sewage outlets on rivers and keeping water test records. Also official environment protection department and the local enterprises are devoted to solving social and environmental problems of public with us.
